I feel lucky to get selected for the orientation training at IBA Karachi. The training was very beneficial for me as it polished my English grammar, communication and Mathematics skills that will help me in my higher studies and career as well.
It has been very excited and amazing experience to be part of IBA and being taught by very qualified teachers who make us learn by various different teaching methods and encourage me to express and provide me an opportunity to show my talent. I am also very thankful to class mentors who helped me throughout my training. I am very thankful to OGDCL Pakistan and IBA Karachi for providing us training along with all the facilities free of cost.
My family background is not educated but when they came to know I am selected for one of the best institute of Pakistan, they encourage and appreciated my efforts. This training has played a very important role in my personality building because now I can speak in front of crowd without any fear in my mind and it gave me direction and developed skills for my further study.
"Exposer leads to creativity" – this orientating training provided such an exposer which can be helpful wherever you go in future. I am thankful to OGDCL and Madam Zeenat Ismail - Director- Talent Hunt Programs and THP team who put a lot of efforts and take a very good care of students.
Selection in IBA is very difficult but once you get selected then your new life starts. The training that I have been provided is very beneficial, it's my firm believe this will help me to achieve more success in future. I belongs to Peshawar- KPK where most of students choose either Medical or Engineering but I decided for Business and Management studies and joined IBA. Initially my family didn't supported my decision later my father enquired about this institute and its worth and realized this is the best opportunity I availed and he encouraged me to perform better.
I came to know about IBA and OGDCL KPK-THP program through a message. I, immediately, applied there and fortunately passed test and interview. I went to IBA it was more than I expected. This was the only opportunity to me to get free education in the well reputed university like IBA. Although I did not pass the final entry test but IBA give me the very much exposure which was a great experience for a student who belongs to a less privilege area like me. The culture and environment of IBA influenced me.
I remember, on 14th May OGDCL KPK Talent Hunt Program final selection list announced. It was the moment with mixed feelings because of my interest for IBA and my parents for engineering though it was not their mistake as it's been trend of most students at less privileged area that only two fields exists in the world (Medical and Engineering). It took a lot of time and efforts to finally convince to let me go for IBA. The best thing about IBA training is it streamline your jumbled thoughts and give you direction and develop your skills. My advice to other students is never go with the flow unless you are dead fish.
During my 2nd year my friend told me about OGDCL KPK Talent Hunt Program- Batch 2016. Though I am pre-medical student but I tried and put efforts to pass the initial test of Maths and English for selection in the program. In start I thought it might not be beneficial for me being medical student but I was wrong because now I know wherever I go, I will perform better and get success ultimately in my career and life.
I consider this orientation very important as I have improved my English, Maths and Communication skills rapidly in such a short duration at IBA. The sessions also improved our personality traits to be disciplined, punctual and focused for your career plans as well. All the teachers and mentors guided very well and I have no words to express for their efforts for every student there throughout training. This is the unique program offered by IBA in collaboration with OGDCL Pakistan for the talent and deserving students of KPK for which I and my family is thankful to the sponsors and management of Program.
Before selection in this program, I always think Pakistan's top institutes like IBA is only for rich people but the opportunity provided through this program changed my thinking and lifestyle. This program helped me to realize my strengths and weaknesses and provide me an opportunity to meet the talented students around the Pakistan under one roof. After training back to home I will encourage my other juniors and community members to avail this opportunity to secure your future.
